It's nice having a day off today. And on Friday this week we go to akon, which means the work week will only be three days. Happy onna.
My health has been utter crap, as usual, so why talk about it? It's the same old, same old, just with different body parts being affected by the flares and the only thing consistent is the unpredictability of it all. I never know when something will go off, so I just keep going the best I can, and use my cane if needed.
I'm looking forward to akon. We had considered not getting tickets and just lurking around the public areas (and save the money for Dollectable in July), but rat decided we should go ahead and do it, so we did.
We're looking forward to our trip in July - San Francisco is a great town to visit. We've already decided on some of the places to eat! *laughs*
We will probably get a new laptop with our Economic Incentive check. It will be heavier than the one I'm using now, but I really need a more robust one to work with since it's difficult for me to sit in front of my PC at home after sitting in front of my office one all day. My back doth protest. And I need a WinXP laptop with a heavy-duty hard drive and mega-memory so I can have Photoshop on it.
I really need a digital SLR. I've gotten back into photography and my point-and-shoot frustrates me most of the time.
At work, I'm doing Second Life. The District purchased an island and I hope I can learn more about it and work with the developers more. I met them last week at an all-day workshop and it seems I've been doing more exploring than they have done. I passed out free shoes to the women. *laughs* None of our home computers can handle the software - neither can my office machine - so I have to work with it during lunch. I need to learn how to build stuff. And I really want to learn how to make clothing. Hey, I was an apparel historian for years - making clothes would be fun.
So far, I have an Eiri avatar, a Shuichi avatar and a female 'academic' avatar. My female has a boom-shacka-latta sexy walk and bright orange dreads. *laughs* rat has a goddess-like female character. We're planning on doing a new couple, with me as a dark elf male and rat as some female beauty. Yeah, this is typical when we roleplay. I'm the fighter, he's the healer.
I'd love to use this in my class - make yourself into your favorite anime character. I'd love to make tintable school uniforms for the students to wear.
